Application management provider Contegix announced Tuesday that it has acquired managed cloud hosting provider BlackMesh Inc. to bring on board its expertise in supporting and managing Drupal and other open-source web content management platforms. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

BlackMesh was founded in 2003, and offers end-to-end managed hosting, including the infrastructure layer. It delivers high-touch cloud-based solutions for government agencies, nonprofits, development groups, and large corporations, enabling them complete control over their application environments, with time and cost savings over in-house administration, according to the announcement.

The company is headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia, and operates out of three SSAE-16 SOC 2 certified data centers. Founder and CTO Jason Ford will lead the integration as the new CTO and CISO of Contegix.

“Together, Contegix and BlackMesh will enhance both companies’ ability to serve clients in a secure, efficient, and scalable fashion,” said Ford. “We are very excited to join the Contegix team and to continue to provide high-touch service and support to our customers while expanding the services we offer.”

“The addition of BlackMesh is a significant leap forward for Contegix and our customers,” said David Turner, CEO of Contegix. “BlackMesh’s advanced web content management capabilities, coupled with their federal security and compliance certifications, align very well with our existing portfolio of application management services designed for the DevOps community. At the same time, our shared commitment to ‘white glove’ service will ensure that we continue to go beyond for our clients.”

The combined company now serves more than 1,200 public and private sector customers.

Contegix is backed by Strattam Capital, and Harbor Ridge Capital (with securities offered through Fallbrook Capital Securities Corp.) advised BlackMesh in the transaction. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Contegix also acquired cloud and managed services provider Web Services, LLC in December 2016.
