Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.
May 24, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Zeus Technology (Zeus.com) said this week that market share of its Zeus Web Server had surpassed Sun's iPlanet, also known as the "One" Web Server, for the first time.
The announcement was based on data from Netcraft, which provides statistics on Web server usage. Zeus said its Web server is now the third most used on the Internet.
"The Web Server software market is a complex industry, which continues to be dominated by free solutions in Apache and IIS," said CEO John Paterson. "As Web traffic continues to grow and security and scalability become real issues for more and more companies, those companies will have to give more attention to their fundamental Web infrastructure. The Zeus family of products are the only Web infrastructure products capable of meeting these requirements."
Zeus' software is used by a number of major e-commerce Web sites, including eBay and Blue Mountain, as well as a number of major ISPs that include UUNET, Telewest and Cable & Wireless.
