November 22, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web server infrastructure and solutions developer Zeus Technology (Zeus.com) announced on Thursday that it has released Zeus Web Server 4.2, the latest version of its high-performance Web server software.

“Support for third party applications is critical to Zeus’s product strategy,” says John Paterson, CEO of Zeus Technology, “and Zeus Web Server version 4.2 will allow most Perl applications to run unmodified in a stable, high-performance manner.”

The Zeus Web Server 4.2 also contains the ability to throttle bandwidth for a user or IP address on an entire Web server cluster, says Zeus. The server also features many improvements to functionality, including performance improvements, enhancements and additions to the user interface and extensions to existing APIs.

Zeus says many of the improvements and new features were driven by feedback from existing users and evaluators of the Zeus Web server.
