According to the company, the module allows bandwidth to be controlled on a per-user or per-Web site basis, helping users contain and lower their bandwidth costs across a single site or for users who host many thousands of sites.

“Since we deployed Zeus’ Client Bandwidth module across our servers, we’ve saved tens of thousands on our monthly bandwidth bills,” said John Deatherage, network systems manager for DTI Services, a communications firm. “Zeus is around 20-25 percent of the cost of a Web server, and now we use 25-50 percent of the servers we would be using with Apache. This actually saves us tens of thousands of dollars a year over Apache, which is ‘free’.”
