Zeus Launches Developer License Program

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Make the Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager application delivery platform more accessible to the application development community, Zeus has launched a new ZXTM Development License and a ZXTM Plugin for the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (www.eclipse.org), which makes it easier for developers to develop, deploy, and debug Java applications on the Zeus platform.

According to Zeus’ announcement this week, the ZXTM Development License lets any application developer use ZXTM to develop and test their applications with no upfront fees, letting them develop sophisticated applications for physical, virtual and cloud environments.

In summary, the ZXTM Developer License is free of charge, does not include support, is renewable on an annual basis, and has performance and clustering capability restrictions. It can only be used for development, testing, education, proof-of-concept and demonstration purposes and will be available to application developers, Zeus partners and customers in non-production environments.

The ZXTM Plugin for Eclipse opens up one of the leading IDEs to programmers looking for a comprehensive software development application. The ZXTM plugin for Eclipse lets a developer use one single environment to manage all of their application code, whether it is Java, PHP, TrafficScript or any other supported language.

Also this week, cloud infrastructure provider Amazon Web Services (aws.amazon.com) introduced the AWS Toolkit for Eclipse, making it easier for Amazon EC2 developers to develop, deploy, and debug Java applications on Amazon’s cloud infrastructure.
