(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — PHP software developer Zend Technologies (www.zend.com) announced Tuesday it has established a partnership with cloud computing management platform RightScale (www.rightscale.com) enabling development teams to optimize the performance and productivity of PHP applications.
The new cloud management solution RightScale Development and Test Solution Pack will use Zend’s PHP application stack and a Zend server, among other features, to enhance, debug and run PHP applications for developers.
The companies say the solution pack will improve software quality and speed time to market for software development and testing teams using cloud computing resources.
“RightScale leverages the power of cloud computing to deliver flexibility and consistency at the infrastructure level,” said senior vice president of products and marketing at Zend, Eldad Maniv. “Zend’s server products add the application-level infrastructure components required to realize the full benefits of the cloud.”
Developers will use the Zend Studio IDE to build their applications locally and leverage Zend Framework components to access a variety of cloud services, according to the press release.
“PHP is one of the most commonly used languages for cloud application deployments,” said vice president at RightScale Betsy Zikakis. “By partnering with Zend, we can offer PHP professionals an easy and safe path into cloud computing. With the RightScale Solution Pack for Development and Test, they can gain fast access to all the cloud computing resources they need while using Zend Server to run and debug their applications. The combination of RightScale and Zend products helps developers get software into the hands of users faster.”
