September 29, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — PHP technology development firm Zend Technologies (zend.com) announced on Wednesday that it had launched its Hosting Partner Program, an initiative intended to better enable Internet hosting providers to offer their customers performance improvements through the Zend Performance Suite.

Zend says its Turbo PHP services will allow customer sites running PHP to increase transaction throughput and handle more users without adding new servers.

According to Zend, the Performance Suite is the only performance management solution designed to optimize the performance of PHP applications. Zend provides participants in the Zend Hosting Partner Program with a management console for administration of end user licenes.

“Zend Performance Suite users continue to report significant ROI, sometimes up to a 25 times increase in performance,” said Pamela Roussos, vice president of marketing at Zend. “Through this program we are extending these benefits to a greater number of sites as an integrated part of an offering they receive through their hosting provider. By partnering with ISPs, we aim to establish the Zend Performance Suite as the de facto PHP performance management solution, and provide our partners with a new tool to increase their revenues, differentiate themselves in a competitive market and offer the highest levels of service to their PHP customers.”

Zend says the program has already been adopted by hosting companies Media Temple and SplitInfinity Networks.
