July 31, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Due to a new partnership, social application developers using Zembly (zembly.com) will now automatically receive social analytics data from Sometrics (sometrics.com) to build better online communities.
According to the announcement Thursday, Zembly, a development environment for Facebook, OpenSocial and Meebo developed by Sun Microsystems (sun.com), will help end users better understand their audiences to boost traffic and revenue.
While still in beta, all applications built with Zembly will be backed by Sometrics’ social analytics solution analytics that tracks and analyzes traffic, demographics, interests and actions within the social web.
“Zembly truly embraces the ‘social’ in social networking, with its collaborative approach that makes it easy for anyone to build applications,” Sometrics co-founder and chief executive officer Ian Swanson said in a statement. “It’s a great place for developers, and we’re thrilled to be part of the community by sharing with developers our social intelligence — relevant analytics and the tools they need to put that data to good use.”
Zembly developers can also couple the analytics tool with Sometrics’ social ad platform, which serves ads and “hyper-targets” them by demographics, geography and social interests.
