(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web performance provider Yottaa announced on Wednesday that it has made three new APIs for its partners and the developer community to interact with Yottaa and to access detailed website performance metrics.

The partner, user and public APIs offer access to the data that Yottaa collects on a daily basis. Users can leverage the APIs in several ways to provide visibility and insight into website performance.

Web hosting providers that run cPanel already use the Partner API to integrate Yottaa’s performance data with their dashboards to provide more value to their clients, Yottaa says.

Yottaa’s features include cloud-based services for on-demand site speed tests, performance monitoring and benchmarking, and website speed acceleration.

“Consumers and business users have ever-increasing expectations for site performance — whether they’re shopping, using a web application or just browsing a site. The developers of those sites are seeking web performance data to improve website page load time and accelerate overall performance,” Coach Wei, CEO, Yottaa said in a statement. “It comes down to dollars. If a visitor leaves your site due to slow load time, it’s a missed revenue opportunity. And if you’re a provider of services to website owners and operators, you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to partner and integrate with Yottaa.”

In October 2011, the WHIR interviewed Coach Wei about Yottaa’s site speed optimizer service after it was made generally available.

Yottaa partners use the API to create, provision and manage Yottaa accounts on behalf of users. The API enables integration of web performance data into third party applications such as a web hosting provider’s dashboard or cPanel implementation.

The user API allows third parties to manage individual user accounts  and access site data, as well as integrate web performance data into third party web applications.

The Public API allows programmatic access to all public information in Yottaa’s system and is registered and setup from the Yottaa dashboard. This data includes public information about URLs, benchmarks to compare URLs and reports that draw conclusions about website performance.

According to the press release, the new APIs support JSON responses and are easy to use and clearly documented. The APIs are REST-based and use standard authentication schemes appropriate to their use.
