Yahoo! Launches SMB Resource Center

March 10, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web portal operator and Web hosting provider Yahoo! (yahoo.com) announced on Wednesday that it had introduced a new online resource center designed to provide small businesses with information on running their companies.

Yahoo! says its Small Business Resource Center offers roughly 1,000 articles on such business issues as marketing, legal matters and human resources. Yahoo! provides a range of services, including Web hosting, designed for small businesses.

“The new Yahoo! Small Business Resource Center provides information and resources that will help entrepreneurs with every aspect of their business, with a particular focus on how to leverage the Internet to be successful online,” said Rich Riley, vice president and general manager, Yahoo! Small Business. “The resource center brings together helpful tips and in-depth content with easy access to our award-winning suite of affordable online services to offer small businesses a definitive, comprehensive online resource.”

The resource center, according to Yahoo!, includes content created by the company, as well as additional material from small business news sources like Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur.com, AllBusiness.com, BuyerZone.com and Nolo.

The site includes an “online business” channel, dealing with issues like search engine marketing, sponsored search advertising, email marketing and Web site design.
