Yahoo! Extends Colocation Deal with Equinix

November 3, 2003 — Equinix (equinix.com), a provider of network-neutral data centers, said on Monday that Yahoo! (yahoo.com) has signed an expanded multi-year agreement to host its IT operations within Equinix’s Internet Business Exchange Centers (IBX). Under the agreement, Yahoo! will continue to host portions of its IT operations with Equinix. “Yahoo! is a top global Internet company and requires a stable IT infrastructure to help ensure a high level of performance,” said Peter Van Camp, CEO of Equinix. “Equinix is the choice of the top brands of the Internet, and this agreement with Yahoo! is a significant affirmation of our continued success in meeting the most demanding requirements of key enterprise customers.” Equinix operates 14 IBX centers in five countries. Yahoo!’s network of Web sites includes 25 properties and is available in 13 languages.
