Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

August 9, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Yahoo (yahoo.com) announced this week that it is releasing Anti-Spy, a new software designed to block adware and spyware. Developed in partnership with Pest Patrol, Anti-Spy will be integrated into Yahoo's pop-up blocking toolbar.

According to reports, trials of the software have been proven it to be successful in identifying adware and spyware. It also worked against adware produced by Claria, a marketing firm. Claria's ads are triggered when keywords and queries are entered in search engines, including Google, MSN and Yahoo. Overture has been partnering with Claria since 2002. In 2003, adware pop-ups generated approximately 33 percent of Claria's revenue.

Yahoo mandates that makers of adware disclose what their products do and include easy mechanisms for disabling pop-ups.

The two companies plan to continue working together under an agreement that extends through 2007.
