XBT Holding Adds Mobile Development Capabilities with IBEE Solutions Acquisition

XBT Holding adds significant web and mobile application development capabilities with its acquisition of IBEE Solutions XBT Holding adds significant web and mobile application development capabilities with its acquisition of IBEE Solutions

Web hosting and network solutions provider XBT Holding announced on Wednesday that it has acquired India-based web host and application developer IBEE Solutions for an undisclosed amount.

This marks the first acquisition of 2013 for XBT Holding, and is the latest acquisition for the company, who scooped up several web hosts last year, including US-based 1-800-Hosting in November, Luxembourg web host Server.Lu in July, and Singaporean hosting provider 8 to Infinity in August.

XBT Holding said that its latest move will bring it that much closer to becoming a one-stop shop for businesses around the world, adding significant web and mobile application development capabilities with IBEE Solutions. The mobile market is forecast to be a $3 trillion market opportunity by 2016, making it a strategic move to serve this growing demand in multiple markets.

“Up to this point, XBT has created a full suite of high-demand Internet infrastructure services, including dedicated servers, colocation, IP transit, content delivery and cloud computing,”Mishra said. “However our strategy always has been to improve our offering for the benefit of customers. Mobile applications and web development services are in great demand nowadays. Millions of companies are realizing mobile applications are critical to increasing profits, and as essential as having a compelling website with well-thought-out usability. Now XBT Holding, in partnership with IBEE Solutions, can efficiently create these critical tools.”

According to XBT Holding CFO Rajesh Kumar Mishra, the acquisition is also an important step in expanding its presence in countries with emerging data and Internet needs. India is where many hosting providers seem to targeting expansions lately. For example, in January, ZNet launched a new company to serve the dedicated server market in India.

“Hosting is a core element in our service proposition, and now we’ll have an amazing opportunity to use XBT’s worldwide network infrastructure, which spans three continents,” Mishra said. “We also will benefit from access to XBT’s highly reliable, state-of-the-art servers and extensive international expertise. This will allow us to provide fast, scalable and secure hosting solutions. We expect to gain a 30 percent share of the retail hosting market in India.”

With its expectations around growth in the Indian retail hosting market, it would appear that IBEE Solutions has a significant number of hosting clients, even though its website seems to be geared more towards the mobile development side of its business.

According to a presentation at WHD.India last year by ResellerClub general manager Shridhar Luthria, there will be 6.4 million active hosting packages in India in 2016, and the Indian domains market will grow to 16 million domains in 2016.

Talk back: Do you think XBT Holding’s expectations around its market share in the Indian web hosting market are achievable? What is your perspective on web hosting in India? Let us know in a comment.
