(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Several service providers and hosting companies announced at this week’s Parallels Summit 2012 in Orlando that their services have been Application Packaging Standard-certified and integrated with Parallels Automation.

APS-certified applications open up new revenue opportunities for the hosting and website security markets, as the ability to quickly and easily add new APS packages enables service providers to generate higher average revenue per customer.

Once packaged as an APS-certified plug-in by a software vendor, an application can be integrated into the infrastructure of any hosting provider using Parallels Automation or Parallels Plesk Panel.

Parallels partner channel includes more than 5,000 Parallels service providers and resellers, who serve more than 10 million SMBs.

Cloud storage developer Scality‘s RING Organic Storage software has been APS-certified and integrated with Parallels Automation, enabling the Parallels partner network to deploy Scality’s organic storage infrastructure as service to their customers around the world.

Developers from Scality and Parallels worked closely on the alpha and beta phases to integrate Scality tightly with Parallels Automation via the Application Packaging Standard, and have successfully deployed customers together, such as Japanese hosting provider Tsukaeru.

Cloud computing software provider 4PSA has completed integration between its unified communications solution VoipNow Professional, and Parallels Automation.

4PSA’s scalable architecture with enriched hosted PBX functions, video, instant messaging, conferencing, fax, presence management, web integration, and groupware, is now available to Parallels partners.

Cloud-based unified communications provider Alteva is offering Parallels partners with access to a turn-key hosted VoIP white label solution. The APS BroadSoft beta program provides new clients for the Parallels community while providing SMB customers with a route to further leverage additional cloud services as part of their growth strategy.

Cloud backup and recovery software provider Asigra will gain easy access to APS-certified cloud backup services powered by Asigra software. The partnership see Asigra join the ecosystem of APS-certified applications to help meet the growing SMB demands for hosted infrastructure.

Technology services provider GlowTouch Technologies recently released its free whitepaper, “Top 6 Things You Need to Know Before Beginning Your APS App,” which it has made available for download on its website.

“As a trusted Parallels partner, we’ve been intimately involved with the APS standard and have been able to transform our knowledge and experience into actionable insights,” said Vidya Ravichandran, president of GlowTouch Technologies. “This whitepaper illuminates the evolving dynamics of the Parallels ecosystem and the increasingly important APS platform.”
