WP Engine has made a number of announcements this week, including the achievement of a customer milestone in Europe, as well as new WordPress services for enterprises and agencies.
On Monday, WP Engine said that it has surpassed the 10,000-customer milestone in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, two years after opening its EMEA office in London’s Shoreditch “Tech City.”
“There’s a reason WordPress is trusted by the world’s biggest brands and powers more than 28 percent of the web,” Fabio Torlini, Managing Director EMEA at WP Engine said. “When we opened the London office, WP Engine’s first international office, we knew there was an enormous opportunity to make WordPress enterprise grade for thousands of customers and we wanted to be present in market to help support this growing EMEA customer base. Over the next few years, we look forward to continuing to help WordPress and its community thrive across the region.”
On Tuesday, WP Engine launched Content Performance, a service that measures site content against Google Analytics metrics including unique visitors, time on site and bounce rate. Visual performance reports are provided with the WordPress admin dashboard to help site operators tailor content, tags and categories. Content Performance is part of its Performance Intelligence solution suite for enterprises and agencies.
“With the launch of its Content Performance service, WP Engine is adding a layer likely to advance customer expectations of a digital experience platform for WordPress. It also introduces a set of tools that begins to address the deeper requirements of the more complex enterprise and agency customers it is pursuing,” Liam Eagle, research manager, 451 Research said in a statement.
The company also announced Monday a move into AWS data centers in Canada to expanded its infrastructure footprint in North America. WP Engine was recently named an Amazon Advanced Technology Partner, and expanding to AWS’ Canadian data centers supports compliance with the Canadian Digital Privacy Act for its Canadian customers, and improved availability and performance for its global customer base of over 60,000.
As its team expands along with its infrastructure, product portfolio and customer base, WP Engine appointed Annette Alexander to the new role of Chief People Officer earlier this year.
After opening its London office in 2015, WP Engine also opened a “Technical Support & Innovation Centre” in Ireland in 2016.
