WHIR HostingCon Coverage Update – Delays

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — HostingCon 2009 kicked off this morning at the Gaylord Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington DC. But the WHIR’s planned blanket coverage of the event will be delayed, as all of our editorial staff was unable to fly out of Toronto Sunday evening.

Due to a massive electrical storm that caused power outages across the city, including at Pearson International Airport, the flight carrying the WHIR’s editorial team to Washington was cancelled last night.

The WHIR editorial staff will arrive at HostingCon the evening of Monday, August 10, and will pick up on-the-scene coverage of sessions and events Tuesday Morning. In the meantime, we’ll cover news and announcements from HostingCon from afar.

Travelling separately, the WHIR’s sales and business development staff is on hand at HostingCon, and will be uploading photos from the event during the day.

And quite a few of the WHIR bloggers are in attendance at HostingCon, so expect some first-hand coverage of the event from the WHIR blogs. In spite of the cancelled flight.
