WHA Offers Green Control Panel

July 11, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting control panel provider WebHost AutomationĀ (webhostautomation.com) announced on Tuesday that it has been certified as carbon neutral by international conservation charity organization the World Land Trust (worldlandtrust.org).

WHA says this certification makes its flagship product, Helm, the only truly ecologically sound control panel. The company has been working with WLT through its carbon balanced program to offset its carbon emissions in an effort to become carbon neutral and thereby an environmentally friendly company.

The carbon balanced program works to remove carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere by engaging in reforestation projects. WHA says that by reducing carbon emissions, a company can ultimately reduce the amount of energy it uses, which in turn equals direct, measurableĀ savings in expenditure.

“The World Land Trust commends the decision that Web Host Automation has taken to become environmentally responsible by offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions associated with its operation for an entire year,” says John Burton, CEO of the World Land Trust. “By choosing to offset with carbon balanced, Web Host Automation has generously contributed to restoration ecology projects which are working to regenerate habitats in critically threatened areas such as Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay, the Philippines and India.”

Last week, WHA released its Windows Web hosting control panel Helm v4.0.15, and the Helm Upgrade Tool, which enable Helm 3 users to seamlessly upgrade to Helm 4.
