Much of this week’s most-read web hosting news came out of the Parallels Summit, which took place this week in Las Vegas, and where the hosting software company launched several new products, and shared its vision for the future of hosting, with a major focus on serving small businesses.
February 5, 2013 — In the first keynote to kick off the Parallels Summit 2013 in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Parallels CEO Birger Steen thanked a packed room at Caeser’s Palace for attending its annual “family event” before introducing several new Parallels products, including Parallels Cloud Storage.
February 6, 2013 — In one of the closing keynotes at the Parallels Summit this week in Las Vegas, founder and former CEO Serguei Beloussov delivered a presentation that, while it covered a very broad swath of topics, ultimately delivered a pretty focused message about Beloussov’s own vision, and Parallels’ vision, for the future of technology, service providers and small businesses and the role Parallels and its partners will play.
February 7, 2013 — In the last keynote presentation of Parallels Summit 2013, Parallels president of marketing and alliances Jack Zubarev moderated a quiz show that awarded attendees cash prizes for their hosting knowledge.
gFebruary 4, 2013 — Website security provider StopTheHacker announced on Monday it has released version 3.7 of its website security tool, which features server side scanning capabilities like detecting website defacement, hidden spam and PHP shells.
February 5, 2012 — Published this year for the third time, the SMB Cloud Insights report says SMBs continue to be the fastest growing market for cloud services, projecting compounded annual growth of 28 percent and a market that will reach $95 billion by 2015. The report calls the SMB market “the optimal target market for service providers of all sizes.”
