Webmail.us Releases New Platform

August 17, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email hosting services provider Webmail.us (webmail.us) announced on Thursday it has released the fourth generation of its Web mail platform.

The new platform replaces legacy software with an AJAX framework, providing a faster, stronger performing experience for Web mail users. There are no additional fees for upgrading to the new Web mail platform.

“When we built our first generation Web mail platform, the goal was to provide users with the ability to check email when they didn’t have access to their desktop email software, like Microsoft Outlook,” says Patrick Matthews, CEO of Webmail.us. “But now we see an increased demand from our customers for a Web-based alternative to desktop email software, so we’re putting a lot of product development resources into creating an experience on the Web that rivals the desktop.”

The new Web mail platform provides speed and performance improvements for all email-related aspects of Web mail, including the calendar, task list manager, RSS feed reader, contact manager and company directory. Webmail.us says it will continue to focus on the speed of Web mail as well as adding new features in rapid fashion.
