A chart from Webhosting UK's website shows its SSL options
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – GlobalSign (www.globalsign.co.uk) announced on Thursday that web hosting provider Webhosting UK (www.webhosting.uk.com) has joined its partner program to offer its customers GlobalSign’s range of SSL certificates including malware monitoring services.
This announcement comes a week after GlobalSign launched its one click SSL plugin feature.
According to the press release, Webhosting UK chose to switch to GlobalSign to offer its customers a more secure SSL solution.
As a platinum level partner, Webhosting UK can take advantage of features including “product roadmap information, prioritization and testing of new technological developments as well as co-branding opportunities” as well as localized support, account management and access to marketing.
“Advanced security solutions available from GlobalSign have provided us with a great opportunity to secure our customers websites with ease in a fully automated way, in addition to providing hosting services,” John Strong, managing director, Webhosting UK said in a statement. “As a leading web hosting company it’s important that we are proactive in ensuring our clients and their end customers are sufficiently protected from increasing online threats such as phishing attacks, online fraud, identity theft, as well as the latest risks from malware injections and drive-by-downloads.”
HackAlert, GlobalSign’s recently launched service, alterts website owners of hidden malware threats to protect the end-user and to prevent search engine blacklisting.

GlobalSign says its partner program is designed for ISPs, web hosts, integrators, domain registrars and VARs.
Recently, IT security provider Comodo experienced an attack on its SSL certificates.
In February, Webhosting UK launched its cloud-based SharePoint VPS plans.
