(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK web host Webfusion (www.webfusion.co.uk) has launched its line of Windows Server 2008 dedicated servers, giving IT professionals the ability to increase reliability and flexibility in their server infrastructures, and introduce new features such as virtualisation tools and Windows 7 integration.
To celebrate the launch, Webfusion will be offering 30 days worth of free windows licensing plus free Secure Sockets Layer certification, according to Webfusion’s Monday announcement. Webfusion dedicated server customers can now experience the benefits of the Windows 2008 free of charge for 30 days and then from as little as £49.99 (about $80) per month.
“With Windows 2008, customers can more easily deploy and manage web applications, increase server reliability and scalability, as well as customise their web environment with better levels of support than ever,” Webfusion chief executive officer Thomas Vollrath said in a statement. “Recent additions to our customer service portfolio, such as Custom Hosting, and further investment in our own UK data centre, help to make us and our customers more flexible and reactive to market conditions, which continues to be a critical business objective into 2010.”
Providing greater control, efficiency and front-line business capabilities, Windows 2008 features Internet Information Services 7.5, an updated Server Manager, and Hyper-V platforms. With improved file-transfer services and .NET support, Windows 2008 requires less effort and time to administer and maintain web-based applications, which helps to reduce costs and improve data management. Webfusion dedicated server customers using Windows 2008 will benefit from network security that prevents data theft through improved network access protection and enhanced encryption.
