The New Zealand-based company says it launched the product last week, a fast, secure and customizeable shopping cart that can be attached to any Web site.

“Surveys show cost, security and skill levels are major barriers to small companies adopting e-commerce,” says WebFarm managing director Richard Shearer. “We developed WebFarm-Shop to be a system that is easy to add to existing sites, and supports various forms of payment, product types and shipping options.”

Launched a week ago, the WebFarm-Shop service is now being offered free to customers of the company?s hosting services.

The product, says WebFarm, supports an unlimited number of products with code, name, cost, size, weight, color and other user-defined variables. The service is easy to install and can be tailored to fit the site?s existing appearance. It also supports the sale of downloadable products like e-books and software with a time-expiring download location.

WebFarm-Shop supports manual credit card payments using 128-bit SSL. Customers can also use online multi-currency credit card payment system WorldPay to receive payment.
