April 4, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- WebmasterSolutions (webmastersolutions.com), a provider

of performance testing and monitoring services for e-business, recently

announced the general availability of AppMonitor 2.1, the second generation

of the company's flagship application monitoring service.

New features include an upgraded control panel, user definable maintenance windows, full-page

downloads of all images and objects of each page, and rich HTML/Flash

consolidated reporting. AppMonitor 2.1 also offers users the ability to

export performance data to enterprise reporting applications using XML.

AppMonitor 2.1 is a consultative, outsourced service that provides

end-to-end transaction monitoring of Web applications from outside the

firewall. Based on the defined user transactions, such as order fulfillment,

stock purchase and catalog procurement, WebmasterSolutions creates test

scripts to continuously challenge the performance and availability of

e-business functions. These test scripts can be executed as often as every

five minutes from one of WebmasterSolutions 15 globally distributed

monitoring agents. If potential performance problems or errors are detected,

instant alerts are executed, via pager or phone, and performance reports are

delivered daily via email.

"AppMonitor is used to provide 24/7 functionality testing and performance

monitoring of all components of an e-commerce site, including Web servers,

network connectivity, applications, and databases," said Tim Drees, Chief

Project Architect, WebmasterSolutions. "Understanding that the performance

and availability of web applications directly affects the success of

specific business functions, such as sales, marketing and e-commerce

initiatives, our new XML Data Access API provides customers with the ability

to access and integrate data generated by AppMonitor into their corporate

reporting processes."
