January 28, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- WebStream Internet Solutions (webstream.net), a provider of
business Internet services, announces the creation and launch of its new
WebCasting Division. In conjunction, WebStream also announces the
appointment of Mr. Crawford Grimsley to the position of vice president of
WebCasting Services. Mr. Grimsley is a two-time Heavyweight Boxing Champion
and veteran of the WebCasting business.
Mr. Grimsley was responsible for the creation of Boxing Line and ProWebCast,
two early leaders in this field. Since partnering with WebStream in 1998,
Mr. Grimsley has produced live audience Webcasts for The American Comedy
Awards, The Essence Awards, Miss Hawaiian Tropic, Victoria's Secret, The
Cannes Film Festival, The Sundance Film Festival, and many main boxing
events worldwide.
In joining WebStream as head of the new division, Mr. Grimsley will be
responsible for the creation and integration of business-to-business WebCast
services with WebStream's existing applications and services. WebCasting
services that WebStream is now offering are video hosting and encoding, live
WebCasting, online training, online seminars and video conferencing. All
services are available through WebStream's multi-media collaboration tool,

WebStream says its WebCast Services provide corporations cost savings by
streaming content online as opposed to conventional methods of training
employees or communicating with clients and prospects. WebStream's network
is based on an OC-12 fiber redundant backbone provisioned by UUNet with
additional gigabit fiber connectivity provided by Yipes Communications.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
