(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting tutorial provider DemoWolf (www.demowolf.com) announced on Wednesday that it has acquired hosting tutorial support firm DemoDemo (www.demodemo.com). The terms of the acquisition have not been released.

According to the press release, before the acquisition, DemoDemo was a direct competitor to DemoWolf. DemoDemo started in 2002 and was the first company to offer re-brandable tutorials. The branded Flash tutorials would then be integrated into hosting providers support pages to help customers complete common tasks with their hosting control panels.

“With this acquisition, there’s no question we are the dominant player in the hosting tutorials market,” Rob Moore, founder and president of DemoWolf said in a statement. “Now we must refocus our efforts to producing newer tutorials so our clients continue to see us as their partners in support… providing tutorials for the latest hosting-related technologies.”

DemoWolf was started in 2005. Currently, it has a library of more than 5,300 video tutorials in Flash, MP4 and text formats.

DemoWolf says its tutorials differ from DemoDemo’s because they are offered in Voice versions that include professional voice narration. In addition, DemoDemo only offers Flash videos.

“Our focus has been on making quality tutorials, providing superb customer service, and automation” Moore added. “With the introduction of professional voice narration, and developing a tutorial branding system that is completely automated and controlled by our clients, DemoWolf provides additional services that were unavailable to DemoDemo clients… until now.”

DemoWolf did not disclose plans to integrate DemoDemo but says for the “time being both will continue to operate as separate budisness entities.”

DemoWolf has also acquired the domain name idemos.com though did not specify its plans for the domain in the press release.

According to the press release, DemoWolf acquired two separate companies in 2008: OnlyDemos.com and CheapDemos.com. Both have since been integrated into DemoWolf.
