(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Deutsche Telekom’s corporate customer arm T-Systems (www.t-systems.com.sg) announced on Tuesday that it anticipates an increase in demand for enterprise application based and infrastructure services in Singapore.

Singapore has been a hot spot for growth recently. Web hosting provider Tata Communications recently announced its plans to invest $357 million over the next four years in Singapore.

IBM also recently invested $38 million in a new IBM Asia Pacific Cloud Computing Data Center in Singapore.

According to the press release, T-Systems expects to grow its systems integration business portfolio since it has seen increased demand for business intelligence, enterprise resources planning and applications management and modernisation solutions. T-Systems also provides cloud computing services.

“As businesses continue to grow, CIOs are addressing more complex challenges than ever before. They are expected to establish value-based innovative technology initiatives like scalable information and communication technology services ‘on demand’ that can cope effectively with rapid business changes,” Uwe Schlager, managing director, T-Systems in Singapore said in a statement. “CIOS are further challenged to manage situations where maintenance is only 20 percent of the job, but absorbs 80 percent of effort and budget. This makes it critical for CIOs to secure strong foundations for outsourced IT services, and work with the right innovative partner capable of meeting stringent business and IT requirements.”

T-Systems says levels of adoption of SI services have increased since the stable government has attracted many multinational corporations to invest locally. According to the press release, the government has shown interest in strengthening Singapore’s ICT infrastructure.

“T-Systems will benefit from the renewed demand as a service integrator for customers, providing relationship management at all stages of the transformational outsourcing process,” Schlager added. “Beyond simply providing a service, we work closely with customers in both the infrastructure and services domains to achieve a customised, best-of-breed solution that enables enterprises to become more agile, competitive and increasingly ready to capture new market opportunities.”
