(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider SunGard Availability Services (www.sungard.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched its Enterprise Cloud Services for its North American customers.

According to the press release, SunGard’s enterprise cloud services are built on Vblock technology from VMware, Cisco and EMC. The company says its cloud customers also have access to its portfolio of additional managed hosting services as well.

SunGard previously offered its enterprise cloud services in a controlled customer release.

SunGard says its enterprise cloud services include both multi-tenant and dedicated private cloud solutions. The services are backed by SLA to ensure 99.95 percent cloud infrastructure availability.

“With the launch of our fully managed, Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution, our goal is to deliver not just an IT solution, but to address critical business challenges for our customers,” Rob Walters, vice president of product management at SunGard Availability Services said in a statement. “Our customers do not want to trade service for the financial flexibility and speed of provisioning that cloud offers.  They want both – and now they can have it.”

In addition, SunGard offers cloud readiness assessment and migration services that enable customers to evaluate their environments and determine preparedness for migration to the cloud.
