November 28, 2001 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Tier 1 Research (tier1research.com) announced theavailability of the first in a series of three reports reviewing the marketshare, market size, and demand/supply of the outsourced infrastructureservices industry.

The first report, a 28-page report entitled “The Web Hosting Bible 2.0a,” isa company by company review of market share for the years 1999-2002 authoredby former vice president/sr. equity analyst at Goldman Sachs and founder ofTier 1 Research Andrew Schroepfer. While still amidst a turbulent year forall providers, Tier 1 Research estimates that the outsourced infrastructureservices sector managed to grow over 70 percent in 2001.

“Since releasing version 1.0 of the Web Hosting Bible in March of 2001, webelieve all audiences of the outsourcing market want to know who has managedto grow revenues in this difficult year,” stated Tier 1 Research president,Andrew Schroepfer. “The battle for industry leadership between Exodus andIBM tops the list of questions and our report details our belief that IBMwill overtake Exodus for leadership in the current fourth quarter of 2001.”

An executive summary of the report, which includes the methodology, list ofexhibits, and certain highlights is available by contacting Tier 1 Research. This report, along with the forthcoming reports covering market size andsupply/utilization are each priced at $1,500, while the full reportcombining all three components plus additional content is $3,500 and will beavailable in mid-Dec. 2001.

“Tier 1 Research’s approach is to size the market using actual customer andrevenue information from the individual providers, which dramaticallyincreases the validity of the report,” said Schroepfer. “While otherindustry research firms provide market sizing information, theyoverwhelmingly leave out the details on vendor specific data. The $5.7billion market in 2001 holds compelling opportunities in the years ahead andTier 1 Research promises that the information in these reports will helpidentify the leaders from the laggards.”
