Web Host XPC Moves to RackForce's GigaCenter Green Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider XPC Web Hosting (www.xpcwebhosting.com) announced on Monday it has moved its entire hosting operation into the RackForce (www.rackforce.com) Cloud hosting system located in the GigaCenter green data center in Kelowna, British Columbia.

The migration follows last month’s completion of RackForce’s multi-million dollar power and cooling upgrade of its Tier III equivalent, 30,000 square foot GigaCenter.

The GigaCenter, which opened last July, uses British Columbia’s supply of clean, renewable hydroelectric power.

RackForce GigaCenter has a carbon footprint which is 50 times smaller than the average coal-powered North American data center.

Kelowna is considered one of the best locations in North America to build a data center because of its stable geographic location, temperate climate and low risk of natural disaster.

In addition, RackForce’s design choices like cold aisle containment and modular construction seriously reduce power use, as does technologies like virtualization, unified fabric network, and cloud computing.

“As a business grade web hosting company in Vancouver we are proud that our operations are now located in the RackForce GigaCenter and running off their enterprise cloud solution,” says Shone Anstey, VP operations for XPC Web Hosting. “In addition our clients have expressed their approval and excitement to have their websites at such an eco friendly environment.”
