Web Host ViaWest Opens Portland, Oregon Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider ViaWest (www.viawest.com) announced on Thursday that the grand opening ceremony for its Portland, Oregon data center are scheduled for May 12. 

According to the press release, Hillsboro II is the company’s second data center investment in the region.

“ViaWest continually invests in its data centers, technology, and people,” Roy Dimoff, chairman and CEO of ViaWest said in a statement. “We are very excited to expand both our investment and our local involvement in the Portland area.” 

ViaWest says it owns and operaties 21 data centers including Hillsboro II. The company has 450,000 square feet of raised floor space with 35,000 square feet in Portland.

ViaWest’s chief operating officer Nancy Phillips announced the grand opening at the Innotech Expo, Portland’s largest technology conference. ViaWest is presenting sponsor at this year’s conference.
