Web Host Verio Names New President and CEO

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Small business hosting provider Verio (www.verio.com) announced on Thursday it has named Hideyuki Yamasawa the company’s president and CEO and member of the board of directors.

Yamasawa will succeed Kiyoshi Maeda who was named president and CEO in 2005.

Under the successful leadership of Maeda, the company grew annual revenues, expanded its global presence and established partnerships with national carriers around the world.

In his new role as president and CEO, Yamasawa will lead the strategic direction of Verio, including achieving annual goals, growing global market opportunities, spearheading new product initiatives and positioning the company for overall continued success.

The company will remain exclusively focused on the small business market and will continue to operate through its global network of OEM and viaVerio channel partners.

Yamasawa will oversee all business operations for both Verio and Verio Europe.

He joins Verio from NTT Communications where he holds a tenure of over 20 years with the company and was one of the founding members helping to establish the organization in 1999.

As a key founding executive, he established the strategic direction and vision of the company, much of which continues to be the infrastructure for which they operate today.

Most recently, Yamasawa was the head of the general affairs department for NTT Com where he was responsible for many areas of the business.

In this role, he led the company’s overall strategic planning and operations and established the corporate strategy for ensuring efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of all corporate initiatives.

Under his leadership, these efforts led to revitalized operational processes and efficiencies for NTT Com and its subsidiaries.

He previously served as the deputy managing director of NTT Europe where he was responsible for the overall business operations of the company.

Yamasawa also held roles in business planning and development, public affairs, sales and corporate services.
