April 26, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Web hosting provider StreamlineNet (streamline.net) reported on Thursday that it is struggling to meet the demand for the new range of dedicated servers it launched last week.
In order to meet its Web sites claim of “very fast server activation,” StreamlineNet says it bought a large number of servers. However, the company says demand has already outstripped supply.
“This really took us by surprise. We knew there was demand for dedicated hosting at rock bottom prices but I think we’ve all been taken by surprise at the level of interest in the new product line,” says Andrew Dollamore, CEO of StreamlineNet. “We’ve sold over double the number of servers anticipated in the first week which has caused a serious issue. However we have now bolstered stock levels and everything is thankfully back on track.”
On Tuesday, StreamlineNet announced the first place finish of the Aston Martin GT3 car it sponsors, in this year’s British GT3 racing reason.
