(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web host SoftLayer (www.softlayer.com) announced on Monday that it released its mobile app for Windows Phone 7 and Mobile HD app for iPad.

According to the press release, SoftLayer’s new apps bring server and account management tools to its customers using these devices.

The new apps feature fast menu navigation and enhanced design, according to SoftLayer.

“We focus on giving customers total control over their infrastructure. This means being able to manage your services when, where, how, and on whatever device you want,” Nathan Day, chief scientist for SoftLayer said in a statement. “Our mobile app for Windows Phone 7 and Mobile HD app for the iPad extend our suite of management clients to the mobile platforms our customers use most, and that includes Android as well. We’re already hard at work innovating the next versions of these apps so our customers can take advantage of even more features and functionality.”

SoftLayer says its apps cover many functions such as monitoring support tickets, server performance, bandwidth usage and accounting information.

The apps are available now for download from Marketplace, Microsoft’s store, or the iTunes store.

According to the press release, updates and enhancements have also been made to iOS versions of the app and for free download through the iTunes store.

SoftLayer is set to open its Singapore data center in early October.
