November 3, 2005 — Web hosting provider Site5 Internet Solutions (site5.com) said this week that it would give a 15-inch Apple PowerBook to the winner of a Typo blog engine theme contest (typogarden.com). The runner-up will receive a 12-inch iBook.

The themes must be original, work with Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox, and use the Typo 2.5+ theme engine. The Typo blog engine (typo.leetsoft.com) is based on Ruby on Rails, an open source framework written in Ruby for writing applications with lesser code.

“The Site5 Engineering Team has been working with Rails for a few months, and we see a great deal of value in this emerging framework,” says Adam Greenfield, CTO of Site5. “We want to do whatever we can to support Rails, and this Typo theme contest is a perfect opportunity to give back to the growing Rails-development community.”

The contest runs until November 28, 2005.
