Web host SherWeb announced on Thursday that it has launched its SkyOffice cloud suite for small businesses. SkyOffice is a hosted Office 365 solution that provides communication and collaboration tools to meet the needs of SMBs.
According to the press release, SkyOffice offers Microsoft Exchange 2010, Lync 2010 and SharePoint 2010, phone and tablet synchronization.
SherWeb says SkyOffice is based heavily on Office 365 but it goes beyond 365 “when it comes to meeting the needs of small and mid-sized businesses” because SkyOffice is comprehensive and affordable. The additional features it offers include full MIDAS migration services, SkyNox online backup, 24×7 support and four economical plans including standard, professional, business and enterprise with predictable per user per month costs.
On Monday, Microsoft discontinued its Office Live Small Business hosting and email suite to migrate users to Office 365, but users expressed many concerns including the loss of email. OLSB customers had troubles with the migration, and criticized the lack of support from Microsoft, and its partner Melbourne IT.
With SkyOffice, SherWeb provides more support beyond what Microsoft would be capable of providing. SherWeb promises its customers 99.999 percent uptime.
“SherWeb’s goal has always been to offer organizations world-wide the best hosted solutions, with unbeatable prices and unmatched customer care,” Matthew Cassar, SherWeb’s co-founder and executive vice president said in a statement. “In creating SkyOffice, we leveraged our decade’s worth of hosting experience and spent 6 months diligently studying the market and observing customer trends to thoroughly understand SMB needs. With SkyOffice, these businesses can finally afford to efficiently communicate and collaborate from anywhere, anytime, knowing that they have world-class solutions and support at their disposal 24/7.”
