(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosted email and collaboration solutions provider SherWeb (www.sherweb.com) has released hosted SharePoint Foundation 2010, the latest version of Microsoft’s (www.microsoft.com) Web-based collaboration solution, which is one of its fastest growing products with over 100 million licenses sold worldwide.
According to the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner’s Wednesday announcement, SherWeb has decided to offer a SharePoint Foundation 2010 account for with a subscription to a hosted Exchange 2010 plan. SherWeb also offers a range of five different standalone SharePoint plans starting at $8.95 per month.

Microsoft SharePoint Foundation provides a Web-based collaboration platform that gives organization members access to the documents and information they need to make decisions and get work done. Team members can create collaborative workspace sites to share and manage their team information such as threaded discussions, surveys, shared calendars, and task lists.
SharePoint Foundation 2010 also provides business intelligence capabilities, allowing each employee to share, control, and reuse business information in order to make better business decisions.
SherWeb said that the new version of SharePoint also interweaves flawlessly with most of Microsoft’s products. Regular SharePoint users will appreciate its familiar interface and improved characteristics, and new users are promised an intuitive and feature rich product.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said SharePoint is one of his favorite Microsoft products. “It’s kind of magical, in a certain way because of the extendibility and the programmability of SharePoint, it really becomes a platform for a whole big set of scenarios where you can get more done with less,” he stated.
