(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Rackspace Hosting (www.rackspace.com) announced on Thursday it has launched hosted Microsoft SharePoint, the collaboration and file sharing platform.
As a result, Rackspace’s suite of cloud applications now includes business-class collaboration, email and storage solutions.

The Rackspace hosted Microsoft SharePoint service includes a control panel that lets administrators quickly initiate SharePoint, add or remove users, and create SharePoint sites within a few steps.
The control panel also lets administrators manage Rackspace Email & Apps’ full suite of applications, including hosted Microsoft Exchange, Rackspace Email, Email Archiving, and Rackspace Cloud Drive and Server Backup, in one dashboard.
Employees can use Rackspace’s hosted SharePoint to more effectively collaborate on projects and share ideas across the organization, using a central area to store, organize, and access documents.
Teams can work together effectively, collaborate on and publish documents, maintain task lists, implement workflows, and share information through the use of wikis and blogs.
The service lets organizations customize each team with workflows that fits their projects, keeping all employees informed with automatic, up to date alerts.
The Rackspace hosted SharePoint service also lets customers integrate with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Rackspace will continue to offer Dedicated SharePoint through its managed services division for customers who need higher levels of customization or control.
