January 17, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.com) announced on Tuesday it has signed an agreement with of heat tracing technology provider Thermon Manufacturing Company. Thermon uses Rackspace’s Intensive Hosting to support the company’s back-end IT infrastructure to globally centralize all internal data and applications.
Thermon’s global presence requires its offices to have the ability to access its internal data and applications around the clock. However, its previous internal infrastructure ran on two different platforms, which made it difficult for Thermon to operate its online customer service database and enterprise resource planning system at peak proficiency. The company decided to outsource its internal IT applications on to a single infrastructure, managed by a hosting specialist.
