December 14, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider PowWeb (powweb.com) said on Tuesday that it will donate half of the first month revenue for any new customer that it signs up till the end of the year to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

PowWeb, which is re-launching its Web site this month, is giving away six months of free hosting to customers who commit to a year of Web hosting, and 14 months for two-year commitments. Customers who sign up in December will not have to pay setup fees and are eligible to receive a free domain registration and free Web site templates.

“We believe it’s critical for companies to give back to the community, and we hope this sparks an interest from the businesses we host and other Internet companies to open their hearts during the holiday season,” says Andrew Te, CEO of PowWeb.

PowWeb offers a single hosting package priced at the monthly rate of $7.77. Te says that by offering just the one hosting package, it simplifies PowWeb’s management, reduces overhead costs, enabling the company to pass the savings on to customers.
