April 28, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider and Internet service provider Pipex Communications (pipex.net) announced on Thursday that it had acquired UK Web host Donhost (donhost.co.uk) for an undisclosed amount. The company says the acquisition enhances its hosting offerings and reseller footprint.
Donhost provides shared hosting, dedicated servers, reseller solutions, Internet access and domain names. The company has 92,000 hosting and 120,000 domain name customers. With Donhost, Pipex now manages over one million domain names.
“Having completed the integration of Host Europe and Nildram over the last eight months, we are now well placed to further strengthen the hosting part of our portfolio with the acquisition of Donhost,” says Mike Read, CEO of Pipex. “With an established reseller offering, Donhost augments our existing product set to extend our relationships with the reseller community and reach new customers.”
