Web Host PeakColo Completes SAS 70 Type I Audit

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting and colocation provider PeakColo (www.peakcolo.com) announced on Thursday it has recently completed the SAS-70 Type I audit.

The announcement follows Codero’s completion of its first SAS 70 audit.

The widely-recognized Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 proves that PeakColo has successfully completed an in-depth audit of its IT controls, infrastructure, and safeguards, and has demonstrated more than adequate compliance.

A Type I service auditor’s report provides a description of controls at a specific point in time, whereas a Type II report includes the service organization’s description of controls as well as detailed testing of its controls over a minimum six-month period.

The company says it plans to complete Type II certification by this September.

“It’s vital that customers trust PeakColo’s ability to keep their systems running and protect their sensitive data,” says PeakColo President Luke Norris.  “Completing the SAS-70 Type II audit will provide even greater assurances to our customers.”

With the completion of the audi, PeakColo’s Web hosting customers can rest assured that redundancy systems, network connectivity, fire suppression and security are in place at PeakColo and meet the industry’s strict standards.
