Web Host Othello Acquires Mobius Web Services Customers

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK-based web hosting provider Othello Technology Systems (www.othellohosts.net) announced on Tuesday that it had acquired the doman and web hosting customers from boutique hosting company Mobius Web Services and its sister company Lavender Web Services.

According to Othello, both companies specialized in web design services for small businesses and the hosting of ecommerce systems on Windows and DotNetPanel.

The announcement did not offer any information on the number of customers acquired, or the amount of money paid.

Othello says it has already completed the task of migrating the Mobius and Lavender customers to new servers at Othello’s data center in the Docklands area of London. Those clients, says the company, will benefit from Othello’s network and in-house support team, and will see an SEO boost from being on a faster UK IP address.

The acquired customers will also have access to Othello’s “Unified” client portal, which offers functions for managing accounts, domains and servers.

“The integration of Mobius customers brings over some great clients and their beautiful websites, extending our existing OthelloHosts DotNetPanel hosting services,” says Rob Golding, managing director at Othello, quoted in the announcement. “I’m very excited to welcome several hundred more businesses to the ever growing Othello family.”
