(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Opus Interactive (www.opusinteractive.com) announced on Wednesday that it has completed its SAS 70 audit.
As the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Statement on Auditing Standards, the SAS 70 audit is an audit performed by a third party that evaluates the organization’s internal controls.
The audit is designed to provide a level of assurance to customers who work with sensitive data that controls and processes are in place to minimize any risk or threat associated with hosting.
Nirvanix, Verizon Business, Switch and Data, and CRG West all recently announced they have completed the SAS 70 Type II audit.
“Being awarded the SAS 70 certification validates our processes and security protocol that we’ve had in place since we’ve built our data center,” says Eric Hulbert, CEO of Opus Interactive. “Together with our accredited membership in the International Managed Services Provider Alliance, Opus Interactive is poised to continue our expansion in, and outside of, our existing footprint.”
The SAS 70 certification is the first step in the company’s planned growth phase, which will also include a newly built, high-density, high-efficiency and 1,500 square foot micro data center to compliment the 1,000 square foot micro data center already in place.
Opus Interactive provides a range of managed hosting, dedicated virtual and standard servers, colocation, and hi-capacity Internet services.
The company recently named Eric Hulbert its CEO after the resignation of its previous CEO, Mark Brody.
