IT services provider and NTT Holdings subsidiary, Dimension Data (www.dimensiondata.com), announced on Thursday that it has acquired cloud services provider OpSource (www.opsource.net). The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal will help Dimension Data accelerate its cloud computing services offerings, adding OpSource’s range of cloud and managed hosting solutions to its porfolio.
As a subsidiary of NTT Holdings, Dimension Data is a $4.7 billion ICT services and solutions company.
According to its website, the company provides “multi-national systems integration projects, coupled with its managed services, data center and storage, and security expertise,” which helps customers to accelerate the transition to cloud computing.
Dimension Data has created a centralized Cloud Solutions Business Unit which will report directly to Dimension Data’s CEO, Brett Dawson. OpSource will become part of the Dimension Data Cloud Solutions Business Unit.
With 150 employees under its belt, OpSource is headquartered in Santa Clara, California with operations in Virginia, United Kingdom, Ireland and India.
The company provides cloud automation services to over 600 enterprises, service providers and software as a service independent software vendors so they can operate cloud computing and hosting environments.
