(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center hardware provider Force10 Networks (www.force10networks.com) announced on Monday that managed hosting provider Network Redux (www.networkredux.com) has selected Force10′s S-Series access switches to provide top-of-rackserver aggregation and switching functionality.
Network Redux chose S50 access switches to help improve the performance of its network infrastructure that was previously struggling to keep up with its growing business.
The managed hosting provider offers a wide range of hosting services, including virtual servers for smaller businesses, cloud services and enterprise platforms.
The company deployed the S50 access switches to provide top-of-rack server aggregation and switching functionality as well as 10 GbE, BGP and multicasting.
Seeking to deploy switches that easily scale with the growth of the business, Network Redux also selected the Force10 S-Series.
The equipment’s VirtualScale stacking technology allows multiple stacked switches to be managed as a single unit.
The S-Series switches offer core-like resiliency, efficient GbE port density in a stacked configuration, and additional value in the performance.
“The proliferation of rich media content driving next-generation applications, coupled with businesses looking to lower their overall IT costs, is helping to drive the hosting provider market,” says Steve Garrison, vice president of marketing at Force10 Networks. “For Network Redux, their network availability and reliability are their calling card and Force10 S-Series access switches will play a pivotal role in their success going forward by delivering enterprise-level performance and industry-leading port density that enables them to effectively scale with their anticipated growth.”
