Netfirms new range of virtual private servers, VPS S-Series.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Netfirms (www.netfirms.com) announced on Friday it has introduced its new virtual private server solution designed for web professionals.
The announcement comes just a couple days after UK web hosting provider Fasthosts Internet introduced its own new range of virtual private servers.
The Netfirms VPS S-Series expands on its previous virtual private servers with a “seriously scalable, stable and sophisticated” offering, says the company.
Powered by virtual technology Parallels Virtuozzo, the servers support full root access so that users can install the applications they need.
“We’re committed to our personal and business customer,” says Thomas Savundra, co-founder and CEO. “This introduction is intended to address the needs of the professional level users that are evolving out of our current customer base; customers that have been with us for a while whose needs have graduated. They’re now looking for more flexibility and control and we want to be able to service these needs. It’s the gradual next step for web professionals, as well as it is for us as a hosting company.”
Located onsite at Netfirms’ data center, these feature rich servers come standard with CentOS 5, PHP, MySQL, Perl, Python, and Ruby.
The servers also include Parallels Plesk Panel, which offers access to hundreds of web applications such as social media, ecommerce, rich email, content management systems and CRM that can all be activated with one-click.
The VPS S-Series offer three plan levels, starting at $34.95 per month on a 2 year plan. Netfirms VPS 2-1 is priced at $34.95 per month and includes 512MB of dedicated RAM, 20GB of space, 1,000GB of traffic, 10 domains, and 2,048MB of burstable RAM.
Netfirms VPS S-2 is $60.95 per month with 1024MB of dedicated RAM, 40GB of space, 2,000GB of traffic, 100 domains, and 2,048MB of burstable RAM.
Finally, Netfirms VPS S-3 is priced at $104.95 and includes 1,536MB of dedicated RAM, unlimited traffic and a Plesk license, and 2,048MB of burstable RAM.
The web host is offering an introductory deal of three months free on all one and two year plans.
