(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) announced on Wednesday it has appointed Philip Cheek as UK managing director.
The announcement follows the company’s appointment in March of R. Brooks Borcherding to president of NaviSite.
Based in the company’s London, UK office, Cheek will oversee management of the UK data center as well as lead the NaviSite sales and marketing efforts throughout the UK and Europe.
NaviSite continues to accelerates its growth and offerings in the global cloud-based managed services market.

Cheek brings extensive senior executive level experience to NaviSite, with a “proven ability to deliver strong leadership, excellence in client service, and a focus on profitability,” says NaviSite.
Prior to joining NaviSite, Cheek served in many different executive roles, including managing director at Globix for seven years.
In this role he turned the company into a profitable managed hosting company culminating in a £35 million trade sale.
He also has extensive knowledge of the data center market, having worked at Infinity as director for business development.
Cheek also previously served as managing director for an electronic countermeasures company and general manager of a multi-national freight and logistics business.
