(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) announced on Tuesday it has appointed Dennis Sherwood as general manager of the Western region.
Last month Navisite announced that its president Brooks Borcherding was named CEO after former CEO Arthur Becker resigned from the position.
Sherwood will lead NaviSite’s sales efforts in the Western Region and accelerate the adoption of NaviSite’s cloud-based managed services offerings.
He brings more than 19 years of experience in technology sales and sales leadership to NaviSite, most recently serving as director of sales at Qwest Communications.
In this position Sherwood oversaw major accounts in California and Nevada, where he directed the sales management, direct sales, sales engineering, and sales support functions for the company.
“Dennis has a proven track record of developing, implementing and managing effective sales strategies and driving revenue growth for innovative enterprise products and services,” says Mark Clayman, senior vice president of enterprise sales at NaviSite. “Dennis also brings an intense customer focus to the role, which fits well with NaviSite’s customer-first philosophy.”
Prior to Qwest, Sherwood served as sales center vice president of enterprise markets at AT&T, where he helped retain and grow revenues from more than 200 Fortune 3000 companies in the Northern California area.
Before AT&T, he was vice president of the Western region at Data Return. He also held several senior strategic and sales leadership positions at Pacific Bell/SBC, which is now AT&T, during a 12-year tenure.
