(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider NaviSite (www.navisite.com) announced on Monday it has launched its TestDev cloud solution and as part of its introduction is offering a free, no-risk, 30-day trial.

This announcement comes almost a month after NaviSite added three new management and control features to its NaviCloud platform.

Built on the enterprise-class NaviCloud platform, TestDev Cloud is designed for the development and testing requirements of ISVs and enterprises with in-house development teams.

The flexible, on-demand development platform has role-based access control to ensure secure resource governance, and a web console that NaviSite says simplifies management and administration.

“Using a cloud-based development and testing solution from a proven cloud provider like NaviSite is an ideal way to save time and money, while strengthening quality assurance,” said NaviSite’s executive vice president and chief technology officer Denis Martin. “With TestDev Cloud, development teams can leverage the flexibility and scalability of NaviSite’s enterprise-class cloud for new development initiatives or to augment existing testing capabilities.”

NaviSite TestDev cloud fits development platforms of all sizes including Windows, .NET, Java-based, LAMP and Ruby on Rails.

To increase speed-to-market, TestDev cloud includes testing tools with pre-defined and customizable scripts.

With TestDev’s cloud enablement services – cloud readiness assessment, cloud migration and integration, and cloud optimization – migrating to the cloud is simple, according to NaviSite.

NaviSite says its cloud-based solution enables dispersed development and testing teams to work together. The scalable platform allows developers to “replicate complex customer-use scenarios for testing,” according to NaviSite.

With tools like snapshots, cloning, airlocks and templates, developers can debug and troubleshoot efficiently, says NaviSite.
