Lime Labs new hosting service, LimeDomains.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider Lime Labs (www.limelabs.com) announced on Wednesday it has launched its new hosting and domain registration service, LimeDomains (www.limedomains.com).
The new service offers a wide range of hosting solutions, ranging from free full-featured websites, to competitively priced premium hosting plans that include more space, bandwidth and the ability to manage several domains and websites from a single account.
“LimeDomains makes it easy for people to get powerful websites running quickly and easily,” says Mark Gorton, founder of LimeLabs. “LimeDomains offers free hosting and free application installation, and we are finding that many people appreciate the great value we are offering.”
All LimeDomains accounts include access to a complete catalog of open source Web applications.
The selection ranges from popular blogs such as WordPress, to full-featured content management systems such as Drupal and Joomla.
The press release makes it a point to mention that users can “transfer their existing websites – such as their Geocities pages”, in an effort to attract any previous Geocities customers who might be looking for free or discounted hosting, following Yahoo!’s recent discontinuation of the service.
LimeDomains’ free hosting offer has “no strings attached”, says the company. Users do not have to sign-up for any third party services, are not subjected to email or other solicitations, and are not required to place ads on their website.
The free Basic plan includes 500MB of space, 1Gb of data transfer, 10 email boxes. The $4.99 per month Standard plan comes with 10GB of space, 100GB of data transfer, and 25 email boxes.
Finally, the $9.99 per month Premium plan is 100GB of space, unlimited data transfer, and unlimited email boxes. LimeDomains is currently offering a 15-day free trial for the Premium plan.
